Changing Seasons

There is an energy which builds at the beginning of a new year when we start to focus on new things:  new plans, new goals, new visions.   For the Peterborough Pop Ensemble, 2018 will bring another season of exciting musical entertainment at our favourite venue – the Market Hall Performing Arts Centre.  Amidst the last refrains of Christmas carols and holiday melodies, we have been rehearsing for our next show – SPOTLIGHT: Songs of Stage and Screen – which will be presented on Saturday, February 10, 2018 @ 2:00 p.m.

Singing amazing music from the Broadway stage or Hollywood’s silver screen is a wonderful experience for any vocalist.  There are many delightful choral arrangements of this music and we have selected some of great ones.  Together with our talented musicians, we hope to take our audience on a journey through many of the hits from the stage and screen.  Some of the songs will be new and some will be classic favourites.  Experience the glorious songs from iconic musicals and films such as Fame, Hairspray, The Music Man, Casablanca, A Star is Born, Les Mis, Beauty and the Beast and more!

For the next month it’s all about note learning, getting the style, adding the “sparkle” and “choreography” and getting ready to delight our Peterborough audience.  And then showtime!

We are also thrilled to be supporting a local charitable organization with a portion of the proceeds from this performance.  “Quilts for Cancer” is an compassionate group who provides warm quilts for cancer patients undergoing treatment.  Wrapped in these beautiful quilts, patients feel the warmth and support of an entire community.

We are changing seasons – moving from the joy of Christmas to the hope of the new year.  We extend our best wishes to all our supporters for a healthy and happy 2018.

I am looking forward to seeing you at the show on February 10th!
